Ok,

So I know my Adamas II 12 string in a '95 model by the serial number (10332) and the fact I was at the store to pick it up new from the factory, but that label inside is throwing me:
1885-NB5 86
Following the guide at www.ovationtribute.com,
I can decipher shallow - Adamas 6 1/2" bowl - 12 string, the NB has me stumped, the 5 for black, but what is that 86 off to the right?...is it the 86th guitar made that year, or the 86th 1885 model made that year, or is it just there to tell me inspector 86 verified my guitar on the 86th day of the year

BTW,
I'm looking for a matching 6-string model 1881-NB5 from '92-'97, anybody got a spare laying around for sale?

86 is the fundamental vibration frequency of the top. Dave

PS - I used to own the matching 6-string 1881-NB5. Nice guitars.

I have a nice minty 1881 available but it is in the red burst finish.

Stephen,

I was checking out the pic's in your photo album. Nice looking guitar and the price is right, but my better half is rather insistant on it being the black mate.

I see Patsbro has a '96 in his album...

Thank's though,

Tim

Can't argue with an approval by changing the conditions.

Don't rock the boat and find a black mate (although black and red do go very nice together!)
