I've come across a 1986 Collectors with certificate. It's black with gold tuners. Ovation's web site shows white with black tuners. Is this guitar just not right, or is there some way it's legit?

OK, auction just ended. Heh, I didn't post the link because I was thinking of bidding.

That one is not a Collectors.

I saw that auction, and found it odd that the seller would include a COA for a guitar that has nothing to do with that document.

Paul B, I sent the seller a question about the color, and Ovation site showing 1986 Collectors in white. Response was, "I don't know about that, but this guitar came with the certificate." I'd hate to be the naive buyer, to find out later. Although it seemed almost worth it as a regular 1867.

Hi,

If it was a 86 Collectors, It should have the date inlay on the neck.
And it seems not to have it.
So, it's surely not a 86 Collectors...

It's obviously just a regular #1867, but the price was okay. I hope the buyer is happy with what he/she gets....

Ah, here's a real 1986 Collectors, starting at $350.
