I'd leave them out if I had a place to hang them, but with 2 teenagers and 5 four legged critters, I don't dare leave them un-attended on a stand. |

Location: Warren,Pa. | It's heating season here and I can't afford a private, humidified room for my guitars...so they stay in their cases with humidifiers. In the summertime I'm not so careful. |

Plus I felt guilty that I wasn't buying enough shit from Al, so I purchased some stands and stuff just to make him happy. Dave |

Snap - same here last week at my local mom and pop. I still keep guitars in their cases but I couldn't think of anything else to buy in there. (Though he had some really nice congas - but pricey) |

Location: NW NJ | Now, in the heating season here in the Northeast, always in the case with individual humidifiers because my whole house humidifier still can't keep the relative humidity above 35% and I don't have the luxury of a special, closed room to humidify separately. My son is 21 and finishing his junior year in college. One day he will leave the nest (at least in my perfect world), and I may be able to reclaim one of the two rooms in the house he uses for all of his crap. Then, I'd humidify it, and leave them out for the same reason that Dave does - easy access means more play time, and more play time is always good.
Now, in the summer, when humidity is no issue, I have enough Hercules wall mount and tripod stands around the house to leave them out. The nice thing about my 6778LX-NEB and 1868LX-5 is that my goddess of a wife thinks that they make wonderful wall art (she has excellent taste) and loves having them displayed around the house. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Mine are all hanging on the wall. Like several others, I am too lazy to take them out of the case, but I do tend to grab the 1537 more than all the rest.
With a large empty nest, we have more room than I have guitars, so space isn't a problem. I'm working on the humidifier situation. You guys with too many guitars for your space, I will store them for free. |

I have one on a stand by my bed. I like to see it and play a little just before bed...
I might have a multi hole solution for our northern friends. I gave out a few "home made" sponge filled black containers at the last tour stop.
I have been building my supply up. Let me know if you are in need. Let's see, cold climate heat on all day... They come first.
I don't know what postage will be... I'll figure that out...
If my 2nd camera didn't die at the hands of one of my teens I'd have a pic.

Location: Fort Worth, Texas | Mine are in the cases. Lot of transport between home, band rehearsal loft, gigs and I have a teenager (taking bass lessons), a pre-teen (taking violin lessons) a six year old and one good old dog and one 10-month old Christmas pup...
Had my Legend out last night (band is on a holiday break) and pulled out the "Christmas Cheer" EZ songbook I bought a couple of years ago. "Chestnuts Roasting..." is a really fun song to play!!! :cool:
And the family sang along to "Happy XMAS/War is Over"... :) |

Location: SoCal | All are out. Let's see, in the bedroom are my 3 main guitars, Big Blue, the 87C, and the 1773LX/PM -- the first two are on stands and the third on the wall.
In the hallway, right now, on the wall is a Martin 0018 (built in 1914), a 1674 CA, Preacher 12, GFKAF, GC DB, Applause backpacker. On a stand in the hallway is a little Sears f hole guitar that was mine and my father's first guitar. In my office, on the walls is a '72 Balladeer and an O uke. Downstairs in the family room, on a wall, is my 1537. My GC 12 is on loan right now.
If they ain't out, they ain't getting played. |

Being that my MusicRoom is subterranean, humidity isn't an issue and it's got it's own heating zone.
Everything's hanging from hooks on a 10' long piece of 1x6 red oak that anchored into every stud along it's length. It holds:

The SlotHead hangs on display in the upstairs hallway.
My CBalladeer and Legend12 travel to fro gigs in their cases or are on the MusicRoom bench for re-stringing. |

If I just came back from a rehearsal/jam late, they may still be in the case in the living room. Otherwise they hang on the wall in the studio...unless they're still in the case. As my beach guitar(no name old classical) has been for almost 2 years.
No evening beach parties this year.... :( |
