I was in the bookstore yesterday and happened to pick up a copy of Terry Burrows' "Guide To Playing Guitar" (Keep It Simple Series) and found a full page on Ovation which starts out: "The most significant manufacturer of acoustic guitars to have emerged over the last 40 years . . ." Many fine pics and tips throughout the book. Guitar Nick sure could've used the info before the famous (infamous) article . . .

Don't be so hard on poor Nick! He did apologize and later change that article. And he owns two Ovation acoustics now!

When he buys a few more, I'll feel he's properly atoned . . .

Wait,

Matt? how many do you own? How long did it take you to get a vintage 6 and 12 string? He's like the Apostle Paul of Ovation now!!! I think he should have an Adamas or two, but they are expensive, and Nick admits he's cheap to a fault :p :D Heck we even got him getting rid of slot-head Martins.

how many do you own -- 4

I look for vintage in wine and Winchesters . . .

Nick admits he's cheap to a fault -- an admirable trait, though I prefer to call it frugal.

The above wasn't a slam at Nick -- just a true observation -- if you see that book, take a look at the page (Guitar Development) and you'll know what I mean.

Truely all in good fun. I was hoping Nick would stick his head up. I was going to make some comment about him being the next "Tony C." who holds the record for the fastest growing collection on the west coast...

Back on Topic. My sister bought the book, and it's really helped got back into guitar playing. She got a Mexi-made Strat, and a nice Line 6 Amp for christmas (about a month ago). Yesterday, I showed up at her place with the "One guitar" (U681T), and my amp. We proceeded to jam for a couple of hours, tell she blew through her calouses and gave herself a blister.
