Is there a general consensus as to what is better as far as TONE vs. PLAYABILITY between the two different setups?

If you had to choose between the two, what way would you go with this?

Abviously, Id like to maximize tone, yet still keep an easy playing setup.

I have my Custom Legend strung with 12's with slightly lower than factory spec string height. I greatly prefer the sound over 11's.
