Maybe they're just cloning them over there. I really liked the "super" Adamas.

(where do you guys find this stuff?)

In Japan they call Adamas II "Adamas" and they call Adamas I "Super Adamas"

Interesting that the 1687-8 reissue was appearently offered as a cutaway version (1587-8) for Japan. Given the fact that the 1687 RI in the US was going for about $2500., then $3000. for the cutaway 1587 version isn't too bad.

I was fortunate to pick up the same guitar in black (new condition original, not the reissue) last week on ebay for $1410. I received it yesterday and it's a monsterous sound - WOW. Might be a bigger sound than the 47RI.

Another member here recently sold his 1587 to someone in Asia for around $2500. So I think (hope) that there definately is a market in the $2000. plus range.

Congrats Dave, a worthy acquisition, without doubt! Btw what's the word on the '87 Collector?

Got the 87 Collectors as well. Fine guitar. I'll be posting a side by side review vs. the 96 Book Elite shortly. Basically the same guitar with a few minor cosmetic differences. I expected the innie/outtie would make a bigger difference in sound but it does not. Dave

Where do you guys get this "innies vs. outies" thing? And then you relate it to gayness (not that there's anything wrong with that)? Grow up. Like me.

Ummm, Paul ... I do believe the term INNIE and OUTTIE (in the context of GUITARS) was coined by YOU.

It wasn't my intention to bust him. He's probably right.
