Given the fact that the 1687 RI in the US was going for about $2500., then $3000. for the cutaway 1587 version isn't too bad. I was fortunate to pick up the same guitar in black (new condition original, not the reissue) last week on ebay for $1410. I received it yesterday and it's a monsterous sound - WOW. Might be a bigger sound than the 47RI. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STR... Another member here recently sold his 1587 to someone in Asia for around $2500. So I think (hope) that there definately is a market in the $2000. plus range. Dave

Basically the same guitar with a few minor cosmetic differences. I expected the innie/outtie would make a bigger difference in sound but it does not. Dave
