I saw a documentary recently based on personal video from Stewart Copeland, and it reminded me of how amazingly fresh they were as a band. I'd love to see a DVD of a reunion.

I suppose they're old enough now they wouldn't try to kill each other while in the studio.

You can hire people for that...

If they tour with three seperate stages, there shouldn't be a problem.

(make that four . . . one for Sting's ego . . .)

Saw them live at the Agrodome in Vancouver, Huey Lewis & the News warming up.

Copeland bounced out first, landing on his stool and started playing the drum kit like it was a 30 piece rhythmic symphony for a good long while. Then Summers kind of floated in from sidestage and made these sounds that were more like colour tones than music.

Then some little shadow wa-ay in the back came running up behind the drum kit, jumped on a small springboard, flew over the drummer and kit, and the three of them locked and kicked for....well, I kinda lost track of time.

Didn't Summers play at the AcoustiCafe at NAMM last year??

I missed him (and Jake Shimabakuro) as Moody pussied-out and "wanted to go home" . . .

I always thought of Stin(g)ky and the band, as playing a form of "Doom rock", not hitler youth, but gloomy. Not my cupatea.

Jake Shimabakuro would've been worthwile though.

How can Reggae be gloomy? A little I guess, when played by Englishmen (and one International American) but still....

Hitler youth?
A - they were'nt youths by any means when they got together.
B - Songs like "Rehumanize Yourself" and "Invisible Sun" were both anti-fascist and prolife.
C - Songs like "Everything Little She Does Is Magic", "On Any Other Day", etc. were examples of their romantic and humourous catalogue...for the most part they were political, maybe, but their catalogue is not nihilistic.

Check out the lyrics to "Oh My God" if you want to see some religious/existential angst.

Alpep; Andy Summers rubbed you wrong? Do tell!

I'd rather see a Black Flag reunion, and those guys are like an ice-pick to the brain.

We left the NAMM concert before Summers. Was told the next day that it sucked. Actully that was the first time I ever heard a person use the term "donkey d*ck". Excuse him, he's from the isles. I got suckered into buying a Fripp-Summers LP. I hence augmented the term to it's current state of "DEAD donkey d*ck".

I have simliar feelings about U2. I hate half the band. If Stink and Copeman could replace the singer and drummer from U2 I think it would be a hell of a band.

Summers seems a little weak on acoustic but i also don`t think much of Clapton unplugged. And before ya`ll start yes i think Clapton has his moments and yes i`ve seen him live.

PS I've got a map program (I realise you wouldn't understand the correct spelling of that) that shows your house. Do you know where I can buy a cruise missile?

I understand Katie Holmes has one slightly used...

Glad to see we all show evidence of drastically different tastes in music and are annoyed by completely different music/artists. Proves once again what an eclectic group this is.
