Call me self centered, but the only guitar/player connection I give a damn about is me! My only concern would be if lack of Artist Relations drove my guitar maker out of business. Since Ovation has no Artist Relations and they are still in business, I'm not too concerned. Oh-oh, Niel Diamond is playing a Greedlove! Crap, Nancy Wilson has a signature Martian! Andy Gibb (is he the dead one?) is playing a Seagult! Who freaking cares. Dave

Artists played the instruments and talked up the instruments. In many cases, they'd be playing the brand they played with an endorsement or without. It was part of their "sound," it was what they were known for. Today, most artists play the instrument (at least in public) they don't have to pay for.

Life can jump out and put a ding in my guitars and i'm cool with it, but somebody else's? No way. Today, most artists play the instrument (at least in public) they don't have to pay for. But seriously, it is too bad that endorsements have so little meaning anymore. It is so tainted, almost like politics (which i'm NOT talking about here, except metaphorically, .... Brad :) ) _____ gh1

Their bass player, a Carvin endorser at the time, didn't have a stick of Carvin gear on stage. When I mentioned this in a Usenet group, he was much defended, citing different definitions of "endorsement". I simply see it as dishonest.

I have seen ME use her 12 string and Al D use his guitar but also saw them with other guitars on the stage too. Let me make a confession all of MY guitars are NOT ovations/adamas.

Wonder if he sings rockabilly at all... Hmm JB
