Does anyone know anything about the history of Elite series, model 1858. I have one, serial # dates it to 1988. I cannot find any info on this model that far back. All black including back of neck and the headstock, gold machine heads. I bought it new, told the salesperson what I wanted and he ordered it for me.
Appreciate any help.

Welcome!
There's a lot of history here. For starters, the first multi-holes were Adamas carbon tops and the first wood top multi-hole was the 1537. after that the Elites became a line of their own with several flavors.

First 12 sting elites came about '84. The first shallow bowl elite 12 (your model 1858) came around '86. Nice guitars.
