I often practise fingerpicking patterns by "picking" or tapping with my fingers without a guitar at hand. Like when driving I do this on the steering wheel which usually drives Ellen mad. I believe she doesn't think I'm capable of driving and "playing" at the same time.
She keeps on asking if all guitarists do this, and I honestly don't know, but assume I'm pretty normal, so I believe at least many do so. Do you do the same?

I don't, but good suggestion.

(Never miss an opportunity to drive SWMBO mad!)

Cool idea. As long as you don't have a "little fretty" mounted on the wheel.

If many do, i'm not one of them. Never heard of such practice. But if it works for you ... air guitar to your hearts content. :)

I don't practice guitar when I drive, I practice drums, but if your wife talks on the cell phone or puts on makeup when she drives, she has no room to complain.

Guilty. Of course I've always assumed I'm pretty abnormal.

I do my best playing, and the most amazing leads, with no guitar in my hands.....
