Location: Warren,Pa. | Maybe someone has asked this question before. Maybe it was me. I forget completly.
Now that I have this 1581 (which maybe I'll be allowed to keep), I'm looking at using it instead of my 1115. What I would like is a piece of equipment that will make my 6 string sound like a 12 string VERY CONVINCINGLY. It would be nice if it also eliminated feedback, replaced my direct box, and could produce some other effects besides the 12 string. |

What REALLY sounds cool is chorus with reverb....I use that on my Crate Taos with my Ovations an awful lot of the time.

Location: Scotland | A chorus pedal will make it sound like a 6-string guitar with chorus, it's a good sound but doesn't sound like a 12 string. There is absolutely nothing that will "VERY CONVINCINGLY" make a 6 string guitar sound like a 12 string apart from adding 6 extra strings. There are some pedals which have 12 string simulation patches but frankly they're pretty horrible. If you want a plugged-in 12 string sound put a pickup in your 1115 or convince your other half you need another guitar. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Elginacres uses a Korg GN4 that contains a very realistic 12-string effect. When I heard it, I immediately started looking at them on the Bay, but they're relatively rare and several hundred dollars. In addition, they've been around awhile so some of the ones listed weren't in the best of shape. |
