stonebobbo likes! Any day that includes surf guitar is a good day. Chicchi is a fine surfer girl ... even through my lame laptop speakers you can tell she's got great tone happening.

I'm with Stonebobbo on this one. What's not to like about surf music? Could use a little more whammy and some adlibbing in the upper frets for my taste, but wow, a lot better than I was at that age. I couldn't figure out why her intro was garbled so I kept adjusting my speakers, then I realized it was filmed overseas. The people of Japan went crazy for surf music back in the 60's, even more than those of us growing up in Southern California.

Thanks for the inspiration. I hadn't learned that one yet. And now I wanna play like that little girl!

BTW-Ultimate Guitar has been on my favorites list for a long time... Is it me, or have they gotten ALOT more pop-ups than they used to?

I don't know it either, thought it would be fun to tinker with it.

Not sure on the popups, as I run SafariBlock and Firefox AdBlock .

If you're running Internet Exploder you might try this , or better, this . ;)

The Ventures really takes me back. Had one of their tapes back when cassette tapes were the new thing. I had one of the first car cassette players in town. Cut a hole in the dash of my 68 Javelin and stuck it in there.
My brother had a band in Portland that supposedly had a former Ventures guy in it, but there were lots of people that supposedly used to play for the Ventures.

I grew up playing those Ventures tunes. It was a macho thing at 13 years old if you could play those songs. I'm going to pick up my strat now.

We used to play lots of Ventures songs when I was in college (61-62):
Walk don't Run --Perfidia--Pipeline (I think that was a Vens. song) They did a cool version of Harlem Nocturne.
