What has always struck me as amazing is just how very tight the group was. Denny's high vocals blended so well with the other 3. With John Phillips gone, Cass Elliot, and now Denny, Michelle Phillips is the only one left..It's a good thing that they left the music for future generations to hear.

Yeah, I liked them. They were one of the original "classic-hippie-bands". Get the whole-fam-damily up on stage. All your friends, ol' Ladies, kids, dogs... And do some great harmonies.

It seems that I, and my friends, have reached that wonderful age... Every week, someone whose music and persona that I've grown-up with is departing. Whoa, bummer dude...

[We could start an ongoing RIP thread... Naw, too depressing]

Denny was a Nova Scotia son and his funeral is being held today in his hometown of Halifax. Michelle Phillips is in town for it and the local paper did an interesting interview with her.

Nice link, Blue. It's amazing how popular they were, compared to how long they were actually together.
Compared to rock I guess folk singers only need one strong song/album to be a legend
