The same material as what?

The shiny contoured bowl was on a 2080, I think.

I am curious if the bowl material is the same as a current LX's, lighter, etc. Is it just a shiny paint, eposy, or a new material composite of somekind.

I believe that the bowl was the older hand laid fiberglass, but I'm not certain. I know that since Ovation did those bowls for their reissues, they've also been using them for other projects.

Custom Shop Catalog/brochure says:

Body Configuration Options:

glass black bowl
deep non-cutaway handmade fiberglass
contour handmade fiberglass
deep non-cutaway standard on 1687
deep non-cutaway GS, standard on 1680
deep cutaway, standard on 1581
mid-depth cutaway GS
super shallow GS

Body Finish:

prism metal flake
gloss black
Adamas I flake

not sure what was on one of them but actually picked up the guitar thinking it would be heavy-had a finish that looked like the old marbles from the school yard days.

Also, Binding and Purfling - avail on 2080 only:
Creme, Ivoroid binding, tortoise shell binding

Inlaid maple Adamas logo is standard on the 1581 AND price list we saw on the factory site - wrong, Adamas II is deep bowl.

Thanks Tony for the info!
Can somebody scan the Adamas Custom Shop brochure and send it to Jerome? I fear it takes month (if at all) until the brochure is distributed all over the world.

Customer Service should just send him everything...he probably has more traffic than OvationGuitars.com or AdamasGuitars.com combined. :p :p :p

I'm not often in contact with the guys at the Factory (John and Andy) because I don't want to bore them.
But each time, they have been so nice and so helpful with me!!! ;)

Good pics. The 1680 has the glittery shiny deep bowl. The 2080 has the shiny contour bowl. That one surprised me with the bowl.....

I like the "A" logo with the fingerprint behind it. I take it that represents the Custom Shop where you can order a guitar as unique as your fingerprint.

Yeah, I like it as well. This is the first I've seen it . . .

I REALLY like the "concept" of it, but I personally would've done the "execution" a bit differently . . .

(But then, wtf do I know?? . . . I'm always the one grumbling when the client's always trying t'be an "ArtDirector" . . .)

Any more pictures of the overall booth??

I'm in love with that custom shop 2080. Black/grey burst GLOSS top, GLOSS contour bowl, GLOSS neck, Gloss everything. Should rank right up there with the Q as being a fingerprint-meister. But I love it (more than you think).
