Joined: January 2007 Posts: 47 Location: Virginia | what strings do you guys MAINLY use ? I just took the original strings off mine ( less then a weeks use ) and re-strung her with Martin Marquis M1100's. On my electrics I use Ernie Ball Super Slinkys The sound seems to have changed for the better I believe since I swapped'm out at least to me so I was just curious what you guys find the best on your guitars?

Alot of people here like EXP's. I haven't used 'em. Martin has a good ad department. To me, they are good strings, not great. That's my opinion, but Opinions are like... You Know.

RHYTHM = D'ADDARIO's phosphor bronze "Flat-top" EFT15's (010/046)..."ground" wound.

While they sound great with my non-Os, they sound very dull with my one and only Ovation. Once I ran out of strings, I'm going back to the 80/20 sets.

Joined: September 2006 Posts: 347 Location: Reno, NV | If you decide to go with the Markley Alchemy's be careful of the size. They do things weird at DM. The lightest Alchemy's are called LT's which are 11-52 which puts them right in line with other manufacturers "custom lights" Next size up are the CL's which are 12-54 which are like others "lights" such as Martin's 12-54 lights. Now, any logical person would assume the CL was for "custom light" and the industry standard for "custom light" is 11's. But the Markleys are somewhat backward. Then in the non coated strings the closest thing to the industry standard "custom light" is called a TLT. Then the LT becomes an 11-46 Its just all around a stupid system they have.
