Location: Yucaipa, California | I've got GAS. Yep. But I have no cash to satisfy my "need".
I've been toying with the following idea in order to scrape up the funding for the guitar(s) I want to get:
I have a pristine Ovation 2001 Collector's Redwood (#293) that I got from St. Al.(see it in my photo album). It is not getting much (very seldom) playing time because my playing "out" is mainly Rest Homes and campfire singing and they are really much too dangerous venues to safely play the Redwood.
So, IF I decide to sell the Redwood in order to get 1)Epiphone Emperor Archtop Jazz box and 2)a decent Classical/Flamenco guitar, what would be the approximate asking price for the Redwood???
I'll keep the two Balladeers I have for the Rest Home gigs and add the Jazz box to that mix and the Classical to the periodic Church "Specials".
I haven't decided and won't put it on Ebay, but would offer it here first. I'd even consider hand delivery to OFC members in Southern California.
So, whatcha think? |

First, I use the search function and look at old auctions. Second, I put the item up for auction with a reserve that will totally meet my needs. Who knows, you might get what you want.
As a rule of thumb, on all my guitar stuff, if I can get half the price I paid, then I'm satisfied.
Good luck, it looks like a nice guitar. |

Approach it like a Youth trying to fund their Summer camp fee! |

Good idea, except that any other visible ways of garnering pazoozas activate the Spousal Unit Radar and get commandeered for Bills and Retirement (read sock money)... the only way this can work is if it is seen as a "full and equal swap =no $$$ outlay" deal..... |
