Fillhixx,
Isn't time you just lighten-up. You've been kinda snotty ever since we turned you guys back at the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

It was probably more HOW we did it then actually turning them back, Jeff. Telling them that, based on the current exchange rate, they couldn't afford to fight was just wrong.

[Warning-Political crap] Every time the price of a barrel of oil goes up, I tell my friends that the oil didn't go up... It still cost the same in Euros!
There was movement to move the price of oil from USD to Euros, and the US freaked-out. The US Dollar is worth nothing. I explain to my younger friends that I made more REAL money in '79 when I worked for $2.65/hr than I do now at $10/hr. In '79, one hours labor, I could buy a six-pack, a pack of smokes, and still have a buck left over.

I guess I must have missed the point of the Vimy Ridge reference. Nobody turned Canada back, it was a great victory. It was in fact one of the defining moments of WW1.

Dunno. How funny do you think you are?

I think you're hilarious, but I'm not necessarily talking about your jokes.

Okay, maybe I got wound a little tight....was still trying to be humourous...if a little sharp. Sorry 'bout that.

And I guess I'm not as OLD as some of you, I just had to go read about Vimy Ridge. Didn't know it happened in WWI. So Jeff, what was your rank then?

and yes, I think you're funny. But then, I have a pretty psycho sense of humour...so don't trust my judgement. That Canadian Guy my hero and inspiration.

Wouldn't change you for the world, Fillhixx... stay sharp. You're among the crowd that keeps this place interesting, like Schroeder used to....

I held the rank of Piss Bucket Boy back in WWI.

I do wish that we could adopt the Canadian's form of political protest...

You may not have heard the news reports of that same PM (Jean Cretien) choking a protestor who got too close, or the time his wife chased a drunk out of the official residence in the wee hours of the morning. (that last one embarrassed the RCMP a bit.)

I was up in Ottawa when the PM (or someone in govt) got milk thrown on them while he was onstage. That would make for an interesting milk commercial.

Send a retainer, sufficient to cover the cost of the OFC guitar, and we'll talk.

Yeah, you can do that here and not get shot. Punched out, maybe. But not shot.

In my opinion, aside from political issues and social programs the biggest difference between Canadians and Americans is the way we talk eh.
When my wife and I were in Vegas a cab driver asked us,"What part of Canada y'all from?" which totally blew her away that we have a definite accent. That and when people found out we were from Canada, asking us if we new Sue Smith in Toronto, or Jim McLeod in Vancouver...
