I'm new here, really glad to have found this site.I'm facing a major dillema. I'm the very proud owner of a solid body Preacher i bought back in 19&78.I relly love this guitar [i own a srat and other assorted guitars including a CK057 and a double neck Celebrity and oh yea an Ovation Mandolin which looks like a little offspring of the double neck] any way my Preacher was my first serious Electric guitar and the neck went sour and i was wondering if anyone can help me here.I really would be grateful if i could find one. Thank ya,thank ya very much. mk1a77l@netscape.com

You should check with MWoody or Mr. Ovation here. One of them will be along soon. I might have something as a last resort.

What is the finish color of your Preacher? When you say the neck "went sour", what seems to have gone wrong?

A breadwinner or Deacon neck will also fit.

There are ways to fix that short of replacement.
PM me if you are willing to send me the neck and I can try to fix it.

Or a local Luthier could as well.

I would talk to John Budney to see if factory can fix it. If you are the orginal owner and have the reciept it might be covered by the warrente.

Maybe I'm being too simplistic here, but can't they just make a deeper nut?

Based on my experience, most warranties don't cover user "modifications". I've also learned that there are some jobs I should pay to have done. :)

Could you post a picture or a link to a picture on another site?

PM sent if you're feeling trusting about sending your neck to a complete stranger you met in a chat room...

These guys can affirm that I'm a Butcher and only good for making sawdust.

Sometimes they even assist!

It had a Nintendo Controller superglued to the face.
It turned out pretty nice despite our efforts!

I can confirm that the top picture was a fraud--no one is holding an alcoholic beverage. In hindsight, it probably wasn't a good idea to let me scrape off the Nintendo Controller with a sharp object that weekend.

GM,

Some of us scrounge Ebay, Craiglist and each other for the parts that are no longer made. I have necks but you need to match the color scheme of what you have.

And as per our PM chats, this may help as well.

Pictorial Nut Adjustment Album

And here's a teaser
