97% of the time I'm not interested in the guitars they review or advertise.
I don't connect with the musicians they tend to feature. And I can find educational material and the songs I'm interested in on the internet.
I'll take a quick free browse at the magazine rack once in a while, but that's it. |

Location: Warren,Pa. | Likewise Brad. I look for one reason: I have a secret lust for an all-wood guitar that my insane brand loyalty to Ovation won't let me indulge. I love to look at the pictures though.
When I do look, I only look at AG. All the others have covers that look to me like a musical version of the WWF.

After acquiring stacks of lesson and chord books, I finally discovered this. There are videos that will show you all kinds of stuff. And if you find someone who looks intelligent, you hit the "subscribe" button, and you will be directed to all that person's other lessons.
This is a good thing, and it is free.
Oh, and forget the magazines. They are all about advertising stuff you won't want. |

Location: Tennessee | I get Acoustic Guitar ... I like looking at the ads, I like reading the interviews, and the editorial content is pretty good. They usually have the tabs to several songs I'm familiar with, so it's interesting to look at even if I don't try to actually learn the songs. I like staying in tune with "the latest" and also seeing some really nice guitars. |

AG for the EyeCandy, some of the luthiers' insights, and they'll occasionally have some decent interviews.
GWA often has some good interviews, and provides some gig-material fodder (tho, HALF the times, they print songs that we already DO) . . .
In either case, I never seem to even have the TIME to delve into the lessons (wish I did) . . . |

Location: Virginia | I was just wonder what you guys/gals read ... I picked up a copy of Acoustic Guitar and a copy of Fingerstyle Guitar ( which came with a DVD by the way ) off the rack yesterday so that set me to thinkin' what yawl read !
This acoustic guitar playin' is new for me so I'm tryin' to absorb all I can ;) |

Location: Hicksville, NY | I subscribe to Acoustic Guitar magazine. I like reading some of their articles, and every now and then, they have some very nice interviews. Otherwise, I have something to read while I sit in the toilet, and heed to the call of nature!
The year-long subscription was given by my wife to me as a gift ... I think she made a bad choice! :p In the past, she used to complain about all the money that I spend for my GAS addictions. After showing her some of the articles about guitars with ridiculously high prices, and the collectors [or bozos] who dig deep in their pockets for them [let alone put up with the waiting list in some cases], my GAS attacks are no longer as bad as they used to be! :D |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I don't subscribe to any magazines for the reasons posted earlier. The information just doesn't apply or appeal to me. However, I buy numerous books on guitar manufacturers, model histories, and archival information. I might look seriously at a vintage magazine in due course, but I'd have to give up some of the half-dozen motorcycle magazines I am subscribed to for the next dozen years. |
