well installed uninstalled rebooted etc many times over

spent an hr on the phone with brother tech support

still no usb.


btw don't ask me for photos until I get this straightened out or scans or to print anything or.....

nothing works on usb. they all come up with this usb divice is unrecognized.

I need to take a break too much excitement for my ticker today. LOL

If your USB doesn't work at all, try updating the drivers. If that doesn't do it, you could try a repair install of windows.

before attempting a repair install, i would recommend a system restore first. the IE7 update probably caused the trouble. you have reverted back to IE6 so open up the system restore utility and choose one of the highlighted dates just prior to your troubles. i cannot guarantee success but it is certainly a viable option.

Yes, that would be best to try first. Forgot about system restore. My philosophy with window$ is "Why not? - who knows, it might work!"

Check your BIOS to see if they're turned on or (maybe) have the current limit turned on or (maybe) set for legacy support (or vis versa).

Check your computer for a Virus.
