Hi,

I have the 2007 BCS with VIP preamp and it is kinda annoying to have to plug in to tune up, even with the dummy plug. I searched the posts and saw that this is normal behavior for the preamp.

I was thinking about taking a stereo 1/4" jack and wiring a miniswitch between the ring and the ground since that is how I assume they tell the preamp to power up (like they do on effects pedals).

Has anyone tried this?

Thanks for link, I think I will give the cut down 1/4" a try.

It's also a pain in the ass when you're playing and go to tune. If you don't turn off the tuner when you're done it won't come back on through the sound system. But it's a great preamp.
