i am amazed what some people will pay for knives. i am ignorant about such matters but i was checking the seller's history on the adamas "blue boy" currently on the bay and saw that this seller also has sold many knives for hundreds and hundreds of buckaroonies. did anyone else take note? what is it about these knives?

Cutlery...
I'm a bit of a cook and outdoorsman...

A pet peeve of mine is useless-assed knives... especially when, I'm asked to a friend's gathering to help prepare the meal and find knives, no matter what quality, only slightly sharper than ButterCutters. I will bring my own steel/sharpener to those (known) abodes and hone the kitchen knives (half the reason they invite me in the first place).

A good knife is worth the price but, like guitars, many are over-priced and suck altogether, if not setup properly.
...Then there are the collectables which, again, are like guitars no longer used for their intended purpose...

i think i could more easily persuade the SWMBO to allow me to acquire another guitar than to buy survival knives, which is what many of these appear to be. to each his own, i just have not seen knives sell for so much moolah. whatcha gonna do with a $700.00 knife? actually use it for it's intended purpose, or is it more of a macho "look what i've got" kinda thing? of course, perhaps that IS the intended purpose.

P.S. What's up with this seller and the blue boy ... he keeps selling the guitar and then reposting. I wish he hadn't outbid me on it in the first place; I could have saved the lives of billions of electrons.
