Location: big island | for the past 12 years or so, i have indulged in one red meat steak a year. prior to that i was a raging carnivore! like Gil in the above post, i tend to enjoy ribeyes the best, lightly marbeled. three years ago my wife and i were on maui and we ate at the ruth's chris steakhouse on front street in lahaina. that had to be the very best steak i have ever eaten. i feel sluggish for a couple days after eating a steak as it taxes my digestive system, but my palate appreciates the flavor. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | When I graduated from law school, my in laws took us out to the Lark restaurant in Coralville, Iowa. Still the best steak I ever had. That was in 1978. Over an inch thick and I cut it with a fork. Unfortunately, the Lark burned down a few years later. The next best thing might be the Iowa Chops my wife's mom used to cook us. |
