I'd like to see what the OFC guitar will look like compared to a 1687 reissue. There seems to be several shades of Adamas -8 blue out there, but it might just be different lighting or photographs.

You really need to look at natural sunlight photos. The originals had only a very slight burst (slightly darker blue in the middle). Very subtle. That's what the OFC guitar will look like, according to Al. The first one of twelve they build as a proto seems to be a little darker in the middle, very much like the 1687 reissue. But I understand that will be changed on the other eleven OFC guitars. As far as I'm concerned, it looks good in almost any variation of burst. Dave

Looking at different pictures of color do not tell you Shi*,.You must see color in person to be the judge of what your brain & eyes really see. FACT::: Women are the best judge of color. GWB

My 1993 1685 (AD II 12-str), 12/04 1688 (AD I 12-str) and the 1687 Reissue (AD I 6-str)are all a lot darker than earlier ones I saw on Michael's walls. Frankly, I like the -7's. It kinda looks like it was sprayed lt. blue at first with the dk. blue applied, then rubbed off to reveal the lt. blue under coat. With the glitter treatment on the top and back, it makes for one beautiful instrument.
