The last few packs of D's I have purchased have not been as bright as usual...Did they change the coating? Anyone else noticing a difference...or I am just lucky...lol

The last pack came out of a fresh box...

That's hard to explain, for sure. One thing I look for in a set of strings is consistency. Some got it, some do not. I have run into bad boxes and batches before. And FRESHNESS is big issue.

I just put a new set of Elixier Nano Phosphors on my new 40th Anni GC 1627, and they are dull as hell! Everyone here seems to think they are overly bright. The factory strings (that had store playing time on them) sounded much better.

It is one of the great mysteries of the universe to me, and I've been playing a LONG time.

Must've been a banjo mix-up.

Did you use string tubes?

And yes, the last few sets of D's do seem to be flat.

Interesting,have n`t encountered that phenomena yet..but then I have n`t used DR `s,and maybe the elixir`s are finally made well :confused: ;)
