His loss. I was looking at an SUV on ebay today and the guy had 65 ultra high quality photos. It was amazing. As good as any real testdrive. And he's gonna get top dollar for the car. Dave

He does have a bit to learn about effective selling on eBay. Dave just said it best....pictures, pictures, pictures....every time I've sold a guitar on eBay with 8 to 10 good pictures, I've done well with it (and pictures are only an additional 15 cents each, a bargain). I have also seen items not sell of course. I recently sold a motorcycle, the guy told me flat out in his first contact that he didn't view the pictures because he believes that with current photo capabilities, all pictures on ebay are suspect. He purchased based on what is in the text of the ad and emails. I have to agree with that logic too, because I have made purchases of guitars, spending the extra couple of bucks because it "looked" great in the photos, only to find out, that without any malicious intent, some flaws just didn't really show up in the photo's. So, if there is one small rule in buying on ebay, it's to ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID, but with a caveat. The person selling may know NOTHING about what they are selling, and that's not your business, it just is how it is. For myself, I invested in photo lights and built a lighting box for eBay stuff. In general, I think it may help because of the detail that is shown, but it has also been a hindrance in some cases. Sometimes the flaws that are exposed, only show up under 1000 watts of photo lamps, closeup in Macro Mode. Under normal circumstances, they are so minor, no one would think twice, and they would not affect the value. But looking at the picture.... yuch... Like I said, basically no rules, each transaction stands on its own, between the seller and buyer.
