Location: PDX | I just emailed one of the factory folks, and they mailed a few out, along with a TR wrench, and some end pins -- no charge. I think it was Keller, but i'm not sure any more, it was a while ago.
In any case, excellent, excellent customer service!

Location: Orange County, California | I especially like using the "magnetic strip" part of the credit card as a shim to enhance the magnetic pick up sound of the OPP.... Use one for a "single coil sound", or two for a "Hum-bucker" :p ;) :p ;)
Next greatest thing since string tubes, I'd say. |

Location: Reno, NV | Check out the "remnants" bin at you local plastic supply house. I picked up a few pieces of thin acrylic sheet for $1.00
the shims I made from it are about 1.5x of the OEM shims. Perfect for that "in between" adjustments.

I've never changed the shims under the bridge in my Elite. The one and only time I had the bridge off, though, there was a thin one and a thicker one (IIRC, it's been a couple of years). The thicker one reminded me of the brown resin board that I used for the circuit board on my amp build, only about 1/2 the thickness.

As long as you keep playing the junk stays flexible, but as soon as you stop, it congeals into an acrylic-like solid mass. You gotta drill the crap out to change strings.

walmart's string tubes are all made in china. the ones k-mart was selling are from ypsilanti. i think the chinese ones are similar to those on ebay that robbie is talking about above. follow his seemingly knowledgeable advice and get yours from standingovation just to be safe. |
