poor hawaiians. So how would they play a G chord ? ;) ;)
that's precisely why we have slack key. :D

In Baa-stin they have a lot of trouble with their vowels.

I put new strings on it & pulled one shim. It was very good before, now it's even better. Sounds better & plays better. I'm becoming very fond of this guitar very quickly.

I also like beans. And vowels.

Tony has some real nice stuff. You should check out his Adamas's he was going to let go not to long ago, he may still have a few.

Yep, we already discussed 'em all. None of his Adamas guitars had a cutaway & I needed a deep bowl with a cutaway. As soon as I saw this Elite I wanted it. I bought my 2002 Collectors from Tony a few years ago.

Tony also sent along a copy of the "Unique Voices" DVD. Great stuff! I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but I'd never seen/heard Al DiMeola play before. I am still blown away! I had no idea anyone could play that fast & still be able to have all the notes clear & distinct. Amazing. I really enjoyed all the interviews & other clips too but DiMeola is on a whole new level. I do wish they had included a song or two from Melissa Etheridge.

I liked the Steve & Glen session too. Listening to them BS was almost as much fun as watching them play. Kaki King is always great fun to watch. There's no one else that plays anything like her style.

Nils, hang on to the 2002 collectors. I kept that guitar nice and shiny. :)

Nils,

Looks kinda of naked without an OFC strap...guess I'll have to send you one (of course, tooled leather).

The only Custom Elite that I've played had a shallow bowl, I think. It might have been a couple years newer. I remember being disappointed that such a nice guitar had a shallow bowl. Did they make them in both depths?

Well gee Tony, if it bothers you I'll be happy to dress it up with a nice OFC strap. You send it & I'll put it right on there & take another picture, I don't wanna be the guy with the nekkid lookin' guitar. Thanks ol' buddy :)

Mark: Yes they do. Or at least they did. This one is deeeep & sounds really great, plugged in or not. I don't know if they made 'em in a mid-depth or not but when Tony sent the pictures of this one I HAD to have it. It impressed the hell out of the other two guys in our Thursday night Geezer Guitar Group last night. It even sounds better than my 1612 & that's going some. Easier to play too, although not as easy as the 2002 Collectors. Except for the tuner (which works fine but the newer ones are easier) I like the old Optima better than the OP40's in my 2002 & 2003 Elite 12 string. The one extra tone slider is nice. I can really make the deep bowl growl if I want to. Bottom line: it sounds as good as it looks, maybe even better :)

The Ovation website says it has a mid bowl, so it looks like they've made all 3 sizes at different times.
