I am trying to find out who designed the Ovation logo that has been on the headstock of Ovations from the start. I have always liked this logo. Thanks.

We had discussion a while ago on this. It's in arabesque font. As I recall, according to Cliff, it was popular in the late 60's and early 70's. I can't remember if anyone specific picked it. I like it too. A search here might dig up some details.

There were probably several potentials and this is the one the dart hit.

I also like the Ovation logo, but I think the Adamas logo is pretty tame. Very ordinary.

The Adamas logo looks tame until you try and bend those curls with neon.

Ovation seems to have several "official" corporate logos that they use for different applications. They still use the stencil block style on some of their cases (I think), and then there's the rather plain-jane logo with the guitar silloette behind it. My favorite is the arabesque headstock logo. FWIW, I wish they'd use that one more on t-shirts, ball caps and such.

It was probably from Chuck McDonough back in the mid 60's, but I don't know that. Just a guess and not very calculated at that.
