Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | I changed my strings today on my Custom Legend, and a strange thing happened. The low E string is totally dead. I mean it just makes a "thump" kind of sound. I have been using Elixer nano-web strings for sometime now, and I really like them. I just don't know why that low E is dead. Anyone else every have a totally dead string right out of the package? |

Location: New South Wales, Australia | G'day Legend. I bought some D'Addario phosphor bronze strings last year and I swear that one of them had been used before. It was also the low E string but when I took it out of the packet it was dull and had a couple of kinks in it like someone had tried to put it through a tuning peg.
Took 'em back to the shop and they replaced them without question. Said it must have "come from a bad batch" Haven't had any problems since. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | maybe a bad string, it happens.
Maybe something happened to the string putting it on? Did you sneeze?
Try another one, it should fix the problem. |

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | I put another Elixer E string on, and that fixed it. I guess it was a dud string. :) |

Location: Midland, MI | Someone told me once that the reason the Elixir strings seem to last so long is that they start out dead. |

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | I really like Elixer strings. The nano-web sound great to me, and last a long time. Before I was using Elixer strings, I had to change strings often. They have really been a big help to me. |

Location: big island | take the string or the whole set to your dealer and get a replacement. elixir backs up their product in my experience. |
