Location: Rocky River, Ohio | Not sure if it's a misprint, but I just received Guitar Center's april flyer, and there's an ad for the Balladeer Special.
This one looks like a nylon special with cedar top.
They're saying the model number is GCS771-4CK-WC.
They are selling for 679.99 with case.
On their website, www.guitarcenter.com you can download the flyer. It's on page 18.
any ideas?

The pic is wrong in the flyer (1773LX-4), as is the model number. The GCS771LX-4CK is a cedar topped Balladeer with the ANS (LX-type) neck. The K in the model number indicates that it comes with a HSC.

Location: Rocky River, Ohio | Thanks Kim,
It's Kim I presume...?
As you can see from my signature, I'm very fond of the GC specials, as I have a standard neck version and an LX version.
Thanks for setting the record straight.

Location: Michigan | the ovations youbuy from GC are different than others? are they made to GC specs or are they just stamped with a different model # to show that they are from GC and so you cant compare them to say a musicians friend ovation or your local music store ovation. |

Ovation makes a Balladeer Special that is unique for Guitar Center. It's a variant of the S-771 model. It has a solid cedar top with satin finish, and a really nice abalone rosette. The GC in the model name is for Guitar Center.
Most every Guitar Center i've been in will have this model in stock. It's a great guitar. |
