one of the few times I've seen Chet play "2nd fiddle"; almost seemed impatient.

Looks to be one of the '83 Collector's Series.

Was it Chet or Les Paul who had a doctor permanently bend his elbow, after an accident, so he could still play guitar?
Or is this another urban legend...

83 Collectors are sought after as one of the best super shallow bowl Collectors. I've played one belonging to a member when in New Jersey last year. The tone was so good you almost wouldn't know that you were playing a ssb....

Wonderful. Sure shows off the sound of the Ovation. To my ears, it sounds brighter and clearer than Chet's Gibson. Maybe he misses his Gretsch from the good old days before the split. We all wore shoes like that in the 70's.

This was at a time when Chet was really fighting hard against his cancer. He seems a little weak to me, but what a trooper!

Chet... a real hero (to me, anyway) and a man of character.

A couple weekends ago, I installed a new trailer hitch on the back of the Cruiser.

My old one came with a snap-on cover t'keep the receiver from getting dirty/rusty, this one didn't.

I was searching around trying t'find one (cover) with a bit of "character".

Amidst the veritable plethora of football helmets, college logos, NASCAR numbers, and JesusFishes, I found this:

Unfortunately, they only make 'em for a 2" receiver, and I can't use it.

I've seen those, Jeffy.
They're like a one-piece, molded pice of rubber . . .

Now, . . I saw this guy a while back in a pickup on the NJTurnpike that were actually two balls in a flexible latex sack. They swung, bounced, etc. . .

I'm suspecting homemade.

Being that I lost my last hitch (and car) when some dumb bitch rear-ended me, I'm considering commissioning a large stainless steel harpoon (or an old-fasioned can-opener) . . .
