I know we've discussed capos before.

I've been looking at the G7 12 string capo

and the Planet Waves NS capo.

I know a lot of people rave about the G7 but is it worth the extra $$$?

Haven't tried the G7 but i have the Planet Waves NS, and like it a lot, works on all of my guitars and is easy to adjust to the right pressure.

I use a Shubb now and like it a lot.

I was just thinking of trying another flavor.

I also have a Kyser and a Paige which are Ok.

Anybody ever hear of a Victor capo? It resembles the Planet Waves NS model. I've used one for years and don't remember where I picked it up, but it is now a very deep patina brass, very small and easy to handle, with a screw-type adjustment arm.

I believe Dunlop makes a similar version.

I use Shubbs on the nylon and 12 strings, and Kysers on the steel 6 strings.

I use shubbs on the nylon and steel 6 strings. Never used a g7, but if the the G7 is better, wow!

On all of my 12-strings, I use a Shubb12.
It's the only one that works cosistently EVERY time. Period.

On my 6-string, a regular Kyser KwikChange.

On the nylons, a Kyser Classical (it's dead "straight" for flat fingerboards).

On the LongNeck Adamas, I use a G7 as it's the only capo that can "grip" the carved acanthus headstock when not in use (and it maches the tuner hardware;-). I also use a Kyser on it that I've "cut" to capo everything but the 1st & 6th strings.

I've also got a Kyser ShortCut capo and a couple of Gbands . . .

Keyser, G7 or Shubb. get one of each and you're set.

I like the way you think. However SWMBO would probably think otherwise.

I suppose sneaking a new $40 capo in the house would be easier than a new guitar. :D

I have the Planet Waves NS one shown in the picture. I like it alot, light as a feather, simple desing, micro adjustable tension. Its clamp curvature is designed for a "C" neck, but it still fits on out Ovation soft "V". Its slim enough that it doesn't interfere with your knuckles.

G7 is great, but expensive.

Very quick to fit. I only have a 6 string version and therefore cannot comment on 12 string versions.

Dunlop now carries the Victor model. High quality, reasonable, mine is probably close to 20 years old.

I believe I paid like $12 for my shubbs on ebay, and they work, so if you can get them at that price it's a good deal.

The Shubb12's are a bit more, but worth it.

They're the best 12-string capo I've ever used.

Isn't that the truth! I'm sneaking in two more guitar hangers tonight as a matter of fact.
