How many of you guys out there can relate to this movie in some way? Most people I know think that I'm nuts and can't stand it.

I saw this movie for the first time when I had a job that I absolutely despised... going to work made me physically ill. Things at home weren't much better. I completely got this movie when I saw it. When Joe is in the doctors office and he is told that he's got a terminal disease - he immediately perks up and all of his symptoms disappear. Of course the tropical scenery and Meg Ryan help a bit too.

Just wondering if it's just me...

Nope.
"You look terrible, Mr. Waturi. You look like a bag of sh!t stuffed in a cheap suit."
Still one of my favs. The opening scene at his job is classic. Dan Hedaya's "I know he can get the job, but can he do the job?" bit and Joe's reaction when he turns on his light. All great.

My wife teaches architecture, and would love to use the clip of Joe complaining about the lighting--"Suck,suck,suck!"--to begin a discussion about interior design and lighting.

Great movie.

And don't forget:

Can we assume said discussions were in reference to someone playing guitar? :p

The early scene of everyone slowly trudging into the building in the grey morning has always stayed with me. ;)

You! Stick with your sub-oceanic plate tectonics. And You!! Get back to work!! Those fjords aren't going to design themselves!! The rest of you get back to discussing guitars, and never mind that I appear to be a talking mouse...

Hi schroeder . I prefer to be called unique! Anyway since the birth of No2 son I have had to work full time again . A buisness venture also went a bit pear shaped and resulted in us having to take out a mortgage. So with trying to finish rebuilding the house, gigging as much as possible and two kids the computer has been a little down the list but I have been watching when I can . We all do what we can Eh!!

Welcome back. You're the only person I know in Spain. Expect a visit.
And you still don't wanna be mixin' with fred. If you totalled up the energy in all the stars you can see - it wouldn't hold a candle to being in the same rtoom as fred.

Schroeder, my daughter is in Spain. We just got back from a visit, but I couldn't link up with Driftwood. There are bunches of nice little guitar shops and someone playing guitar on almost every corner. There's other stuff, too, but I'm on a guitar forum and I never go off topic.
