...incidentally;

one of my "All-Time-Favorite" lines is from 'Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem'...

.... "UHH-O! Looks like, Zoot slipped the groove" ....

Classic! I remember watching that one first run too!

Dr. Teeth always had great lines -

Animal - Eat Drums! Eat Drums!"
Dr. Teeth - "No Animal, PLAY drums!"

And of course, there was Floyd the bass player, the Skunk Baxter look alike.

This clip is a little longer and shows animal's reaction...

...and Kermit's speaking (I think) Spanish.

Back in the 80's, a friend of mine and I both took a late Spring Friday off from work and went to a Muppetts exhibit at the NewYork PublicLibrary at LincolnCenter.

Henson & Oz were there doing Meet&Greet, and did a few demos of what goes on "under the scenes" with the head-sets and the thin, black sticks that move the hands & such.

The best part was having ALL of the ACTUAL Muppetts out on display.
They had the entire "band" set-up like they were actually playing on a "stage". I mostly remember marvelling over the level of DETAIL used on "Floyd" the bass player! The intricate stitching on the brocade of his jacket, and that the strings on his bass had actual "windings" on 'em! . . .

There's a ton of good stuff from The Muppet Show on YouTube. You can burn a couple hours easy.

". . i always liked gene krupa better . ."

. . and Louie Belson.

There used t'be an old drummer joke about Rich faking his own death & having a memorial "jam" in his honor, cuz that's the only way anyone would show up . . .

Anybody remember that one??
(I've completely forgotten it . . .)

I've seen Emerson play "Toccatta" while he (and the piano) were "barrel-rolling" a good 10' over the stage . . . and didn't miss a note . . .
