Does anyone know how many of the Viper III models came out of the factory? Just curious why they are so very rare, and rival the prices of the Breadwinner Limited (500 made)

Perhaps a breakdown of the different colors that left the factory exists too.

Seems I have a rarer color V3 (cream puff yellow), which I think is kinda cool & unique nowadays...when I received it, it had vinyl covered strings which produced some great warm sounds. Did any of the solid-body ovation electrics come stock with these vinyl strings?

I did post it a couple of days ago...the only answer I got was: "of the all the vipers and pecheurs, the V3 was lowest production"

I posted it on the bulletin board, but it seems like more members respond on this side...just looking for a more direct answer if one is available

I'd like to know why sunbursts were only done on Wednesdays. I guess that explains why there are more sunbursts than other colors. Mondays and Fridays always get compromised with federal holidays.

llampton, it seems that accurate production numbers that are publicly available are for the collector's series only.

I moved this back to the discussion area.

As others have mentioned, there is little known about production numbers. The answer from CWK2 is about as accurate as there is.
