For those of you interested in attending the recording workshop, here is a brief outline.

First of all the workshop not be about specific recording equipment. Whether you own a little cassette 4-tracker, a whizz-bang computer system or a stand-alone DAW the workshop is intended to help you make better recordings regardless of the system you record to. The main focus will be recording acoustic guitars. Topics I hope to cover will include:

Getting the best from your recording space.

Monitoring.

Microphone characteristics and microphone techniques.

Use of compressors and mic preamps.

If time allows we will finish with a general recording question and answer session about any aspect of recording or any problems you may be having. I don't promise to be able to answer everything, but I'll do my best!

As I need to prepare printed material it would be good if anyone intending to attend could let Al know ASAP so we have an idea of numbers.
