Gigged with the Tak EF75J last Friday. Three hours, one break, used the loop on everything, but sometime during the evening, I discovered an odd harmonic overtone apparently emanating from the low E string in several of the Zoom presets. I couldn’t determine what it was precisely, but the tone was close to a two-step higher note from whatever I was playing on the low E string. I couldn’t tell if the amp was creating an odd harmonic in the guitar, whether it was being picked up and amplified or reamplified, or if it was coming from the effects. The overtone was certainly not something programmed into the Zoom preset. It was spooky and I didn’t particularly like what it was doing to the overall sound, so I avoided those presets. I could not duplicate the tone the next day in the band room. Tone ghosts?

Does the Tak have a notch filter??

Last week, I tuned the LongNeck down to B and played it thru a small bass amp. I was getting kind of a funny harmonic on the sixth string as well, but was able to "tune it out" with the notch filter . . .

Good comment, Cliff. No notch filter on the Tak, but there is one on the Trace amp. I had it activated, but failed to adjust to the particular tone.

I bet at 50% off, a few of us here would be more than willing to make the sacrifice, to help a friend in need. We could eliminate that crap from your inventory so fast no one would ever discover your mistake.

Bet they'd make a great campfire guitar, long as a guy wasn't too picky about what he took campin'.

They're not that good a campfire guitar. Not enough wood in them.

Would make a great starter guitar though, you know, to get it going and the you just keep adding more to it.
