My former husband wants to buy my Legend (1117, 1979, 24Kt gold plate) for his son who will start college at a music school this fall. I want to give him a fair price - we still like each other and he did give me this guitar for a (really nice!) birthday gift while we were married. I'd love help determining a price or price range from this knowledgeable group. Will make a donation to this website as a thank-you.

The Legend is in excellent, like-new condition though a little dusty.

It should be worth at least $400 to the right buyer, probably more. That is... to the right buyer. Ebay would probably fetch in the $350-400 range. It is a really nice guitar and as far as legends go these sound great. $350 would save you the hassel of selling it on eaby. You would probably get $150-200 from a dealer so if you want to be nice I would say $300 would be a good deal for everyone.

Rich seems to be in the ballpark. Watch ebay completed listings. Prices have been pretty low lately.

Deb, I agree with Rich.....$300-$350 is fair to all parties.
Dealers will want 100% markup.......

Okay, I'll offer to sell it to him for $300. As promised, I just made a donation to the website under my business name, Vocal Greetings, LLC. (recordable greeting cards, http://www.vocalgreetings.com/) Thank you all for your help!
