Hello, my name is Suzie and I’m so happy to have found this site. I’m not really the guitar enthusiast, but my son is. He has an Ovation Balladeer Model 1111-1, serial # 4085, that was given to him by his father. He is one of those kids that pick up a guitar and just plays. This guitar has been his favorite out of all the ones he plays. He idolizes this guitar.

Here is the problem. He was moving over the summer and the guitar was out of the case, something fell on it and …. (((((it broke)))) at the very top where the neck and the strings would tighten. I am just sick about it and don’t want to just take it any where to try and get it fixed.

Suggestions?

I guess I'll be one of many to say it.

Send it back to the factory in New Hartford, CT. They will fix it for a price at least as reasonable as anyone else, but it will be fixed by the folks who built it. Just go to the Ovation website and contact customer support. They'll get back to you.

BTW, when people start saying things like "Beam it to the mothership." or "Send it home to Mother." They're saying what I said, but using Ovation Fan Club Speak.

Good luck! :)

Ditto what Patch said. The factory can do a great job fixing the guitar at a very reasonable price.

Glad you stumbled on the group.

Thanks all of you. I just finished taking a few photos of the guitar and will be contacting Ovation next. I know I made the right move asking the question here because this just feels like the right thing to do. As guitars go ... I know this is not just "any" guitar and I wouldnt feel right sending it to "Best Buy" for a "repair" ... I will keep you updated =)
