Most other products contain some solvent to help them clean and/or dry quickly. Or it's for fragrence. Lemon-scented, means it contains lemon, which contains citric acid, ...
The Whatleys Old English is OK if you use the un-scented version. I use this on all my wood furnature and on the epaulets of my adamas guitars. But for the fretboards it's strictly mineral oil.

Paul - Puppy is good. We're doing about 80% success rate on the outdoor "potty" process. Chews his toys, but not any furnature, etc. Although I imagine if I left one of Al's nice Long Hollow Leather guitar straps laying around that he'd have a field day with it. The music room is double bolted and sealed shut with liquid nails.

Lost a good pair of Chuck Taylor's to a dog once, we did consider eating her just to even the score but the wife said NO.

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Mineral oil it is...I use a piece of Scotch Brite pad (#96 SCOTCH BRITE PADS P/70 - $12.98 per box- Atlanta Fixture & Sales or Google Scotch Brite Pads) to clean and polish the fretboard and the frets at the same time...use a dry cloth or towel to clean up and wipe the fretboard dry afterwards. Great Results with a minimum of effort!
BTW, Dave, did you get my email about serial numbers?
Blessings... |
