Nice clear sound, and very easy to play. I think it was voted by some acoustic magazine as the best under 500.00. Has a nice preamp with XLR output even. Needed a little setup but now it plays like butter. If you get a chance to try one, do it! :D

My son has a D-27 which is a solid cedar top, koa back and sides dread and I think was well under $200. It's no Collings, but for a POS woodbox it's really well made and plays and sounds nice..

He even inspected the trunk of my car when I left after visiting (how humiliating). I have since been UTTED and am awaiting it's arrival (tick, tick, tick, tick, tick)!? But, something tells me that given the RIGHT situation and the RIGHT guitar comes along that the Old Trader could offer it up. (buy the way Jim, can you send me the $100.00 that I gave you to put my name in front of Gospel Guitar Guy's). After all, he went from jpcannon to TRADER JIM for a good reason. I hope for your sake that he loses his mind real soon! Good Luck friend.

The 1537 just needed a fret leveling and a setup, other than that, it's perfect. (I'll probably have to lower the action when it gets back) Even Kim said it was " a REALLY nice guitar", and now that I emailed him and razzed him about his picture on the site, I'm afraid I might not see it again. :D I just need to realize you can't go to the local guitar center and buy another one.... :rolleyes:Jim, don't even think about getting rid of the 1537, if you think the Ute will replace it.
