As I said in the other thread, my CS257's OP24+ preamp seems to have taken a dump on me right before a gig. I usually plug it into this old Fishman preamp (the one that connects to your belt) before going to the board. I got absolute silence out of that. So, I plugged the guitar straight into the board and got a bunch of static and distortion. The guitar did make a sound, but it sounded like a blown speaker (and my speakers checked out fine). I changed the battery - no difference.

Since this is a Korean made Celebrity, and is basically worthless to me as a staight acoustic, is it worth getting the pre-amp looked into? Or should I just retire it and find another?

It sounds like it can be as simple as a loose connection inside the guitar. I had to have one of mine re-soldered on my Legend LX. If that's the case, it shouldn't be a big deal.

The OP-24+ is a good sounding preamp, so I would check into the wiring.

Check the wiring on the jack. Sometimes they loosen up enough to spin around, weakening the solder connections and causing shorts.

Would that be the concert for OJ?

...and so Class, in review:
Electronics require cohesive connections to perform while people can adapt to spurious and random synaptic connections and still provide output.

In essence; once rattled machines will stop but people will go on and on.

No, the red zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in a white zone.

You'd better tell the Captain we've got to land as soon as we can. This woman has to be gotten to a hospital.

A hospital? What is it?

It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

Man I appreciate this place. Do you realize there's probably an entire generation out there that has no clue what all the above is about? For instance, somebody posted an Animal House quote on another forum I follow and it went right over the head of most of the readers.. "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor??"

You got a letter from headquarters this morning.

What is it?

It's a big building where generals meet, but that's not important.
