I just picked this up as bang around guitar. It's pretty cool. I think OA was only offered in the US for a very short time. Quite rare and not a bad guitar at all considering the price point (under 200.)

Not all that bad, but you'd never confuse it with a USA model. The fit, finish and setup is actually pretty good. Dave

"Very Cool Looking Guitar".... Give me a break! Check the archives, and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this just an even cheaper Chinese version of the MOB, which was universally hated, especially by certain members of this board. How come the "Applause/Ocean" version of the "Celebrity/Tangent/Surf Board" guitar suddenly becomes cool?????

I owned and gigged with a shallow bowl MOB set up for slide for a year or so. Decent guitar for the dough, but everyone here absolutely despised them wth a passion.

Hey Dave, where is the dual knobber set-up you mentioned you'd install?
It is Red!

My Korean shallow bowl plywood-topped MOB absolutely wiped the floor my '72 deep bowl Legend. Not only louder, but a lot more bass. VT bracing? Go figure

my son and I both have owned a MOB... and he still does... personally I liked it, and it did/does what it was designed and marketed to do..

and it's made several of his friends aware of the brand... and a couple of them have bought elite Ts since..

it's his beach/surfing guitar and pretty indestructible and still looks and sounds good.

It's the bitch in heat.

Paul, yes this is the cheaper version of the MOB. Kooreen made. But you gots to put it in perspective. Under $200. I've paid more than that in sales tax on some guitars.

I'm putting in a pickup and this'll be my gigging guitar just in case I ever do get a gig. Or, I can just pull it out from under the bed and sniff the resin.

Dave, I have no problem with these, I've always kinda liked them. The point I was making was that not long ago the MOB design produced a ton of tedious posts from people expressing their hatred for it.

Must be the Red, but that one don't look too bad. I sorta like it.
And the the Headstock ain't the Tangent 2-4, which I don't really care for..

But, of course, how it sounds is the important thing. As long as it sounds Good... Good!

Two quick points on appearance and lack of taste...
I got a beat-up 1112 that sounds real nice... but looks like effluent.
And I used to think that them Blue Adami were ugly, until I played one.
Now if I ever get an Adamas, it will be that yucky blue color.

So much for my judgment on appearance... :p

If this one said OVATION on the headstock, I'd hate it too. I'm glad that they don't make any pretense that this is anythign other than what it is. Dave
