Joined: March 2005 Posts: 5563 Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | I followed this for 5 days and with one day to go in the auction, the seller pulled the auction. I wrote him and asked why: he said he needed to sell it from the inventory at his store and was re-listing it with a buy it now price (which he did not give to me). He said it would be up later on Friday night. Well, I'm in my last year of Seminary and at 10 pm was sitting in my Old Testament Exegesis class and monitoring new Ovation actions on eBay (yeah I know...) when during a refresh, this auction appeared; when I saw the buy-it now price, I couldn't believe it but hit the BIN key as fast as I could...I won the auction! 1758-6 This 1758-6 is mint and looks unplayed...it is even nicer than my other 1758-6 which I will be offering for sale to OFC members at a GREAT price...before putting it on the bay. If you are in the market for a wonderful rare 12 string, pm me. The new guitar should be here by the end of the week and I'll post new pic's and details! Pic's of my 1758-6 can be seen in my musicmishka gallery. Everyone here who followed the original thread on this last spring should know the relationship and history I have with these white 12's: to find two in less than 6 months after looking for 10 years is just so cool. ;)

Same for the 1758-6 but a 10 year serach there...worth the wait! I guess folks are starting to let go of some guitars they are not playing...Good time if you are searching...and can live with a few boo-boos or get it fixed at the mothership! I have two going out this week...'69 1115-1 and 1987C-5...1115-1 needs a lot of work...the 87C needs a few bridge finish (moustache)cracks addressed...both will be worth the wait and expense...thanks for the good thoughts everyone... ;)

We are given challenges and scenario's to deal with on a daily basis and the choice we have is how to deal with and handle them. I received an email last night that the 1758-6 was sold between the closing of the original auction and the relisting auction which I responded to and used the BIN later that night. I got the sellers contact information from eBay and called the shop owner this morning...he was not happy that this had happened and was in the process of refunding my payment. After listening to his explanation, I choose to believe him and just let it go...Last night I went through the whole round of emotions and was, as much as I hate to admit it, angry among other feelings. After a nights sleep (with the wife at work and a sick 7 month old, sleep is such a misnomer...) I arrived at the decision stated above. The old saying "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade" is so true...being angry and vindictive really gains nothing and will not get the guitar so I am just going to be happy with the one I have. I'll send it to the mothership for a little touchup, and be happy that I have what I had been looking for all along...to those who had pm'd me about a possible sale of one of my 1758's, sorry but that is not going to happen at this time... Thanks for all the good wishes and comments...and when the -6 12 returns, I'll post a pic or two! ;)
