Hi...

A bit quiet this Adamas forum!!!

Anyway... I went to Scotland today to see Preston Reed and collect one of his three special Adamas at his home.

This one red, serial 14145 from 1999

It is labelled as a DS587-X, so if someone can shed some light on the meaning, I can't see anything with that name on other Adamas guitars.

It has the std pickup under the saddle plus another one under the table, so special control box.

Preston tells me the back is not Lynacord, but bigger fiberglass fabrication that Ovation farmed out.

There were a few long neck adamas floating about. The model number is the following:

DS means D-Scale (ie baritone or longneck)
587 means adamas I deep body cutaway (like a regular adamas I deep body cutaway is 1587)
-X means that it was a custom build

We saw Preston at an outdoor concert on the Brundage Mountain ski slope near McCall, Idaho years ago. One of the best concerts I ever attended.
