My favourite guitar is the Classical 1613, I own two at the moment and this weekend I will get my third one.

The first one has two big cracks in the paint and is used for everyday playing, as a sort of beater.

The second one has been delivered with some high tension strings, I have to admit that I love the feeling but I am afraid that the higher tension could damage the guitar, so I have to replace the strings. 

What would you put on a 1613?

High tension strings will not damage the guitar.

Here's a chart showing tensions for D'Addario ProArte strings.

FWIW, EJ45 are normal tension and EJ44 are Extra Hard tension.

The difference is 85 lbs. vs. 91 lbs., or 6 lbs.

For a deep bowl classical, like the 1613, I personally prefer using normal tension on the bass strings and hard tension on the treble.

The reason is that the deep bowl emphasizes the bass response, which, IMO, causes the bass strings to overpower the treble.

The bottom line is put on the strings that make the guitar sound like you want.
