Joined: July 2003 Posts: 3111 Location: Nashville TN. | My battery light burned out on the op-24. I put a paper on the battery cover with the date the battery was installed. I just looked in on it and noticed My top is two pieces the large lower part grain run up and down like most tops. The other piece the grain runs side to side. Are all of them like that??

The joint is right across the top about 1/2 an inch below were the fret board ends, Grain goes side to side. 5 of the 10 braces run all the way to the top body. It doesn't have sound holes it has two lightening strikes. Its not just around the lightning strikes. It covers the upper 1/3rd of the inside of the top.

Well, they did mention it in the catalog in the 80's (re-enforced with birch veneer for outstanding highs), but it seems to conflict with the magazine ads for the Elite which ran a couple of years later.
