For example, Gibson acoustics in the late 60s were known for skinny necks. When Norlin took over in 1969 or so, many changes were made in the 70s that people didn't like (me included, $0.02). The mid 80s Nashville models were better but not great. Bozeman has boosted Gibson back and even they have had a couple speed bumps along the way, maybe not so much QC but predictable neck shape, etc. Likewise for Fender, with the fabled Pre-CBS, CBS, Post-CBS, Pre-CNC, Smith Era, and the "Is it really US made or is it made in Mexico but strung up in California and then called American because I basically can't believe anything those lying b@stards say anymore" era (which is pretty much the last 10 years or so.....) Whew. Sorry. So this question is honest and wide eyed.... Has Ovation gone through similar eras?

The 2000's are a great time..... There are exceptions to this and I'm talking quality of the guitar's sound, not necessarily the number of people playing them.

My hands are just too small, and I always feel like the necks are fighting me instead of cooperating. (The level I play on, I need all the help I can get.) They're just not my favorite flavor of ice cream, I guess. I was happy when the LXs came out with the truss rods. --Karen
